Paris Terror Attacks - The World Will Always Remember

The whole world mourned for the lives lost on the night of Friday the 13th of November, when another memorable act of terrorism was committed. Paris, the city of lovers, one of the most beautiful and loved cities in the world was attacked.

Gunmen and suicide bombers hit a concert hall, a major stadium, restaurants and bars, almost simultaneously - and left 130 people dead and hundreds wounded.

ISIS claimed responsibility for the horrific Paris attacks, for which France vowed revenge. President Francois Hollande deemed the shootings and bombings "an act of war." He said, “We will lead the fight, and we will be ruthless.

Shootings and bomb blasts left 130 people dead and hundreds wounded, with more than 100 in a critical condition.

Such an incident is bound to kill the spirit of a country and its people. But Paris stands tall as it courageously tells the world that it remains unafraid. For this, we admire them and we honor their lost. The whole world prays for you and stands with you as you continue to go through this nightmare and as you continue your fight against terrorism.

May God bless you Paris!

(COC) Circus of Candidacies

On October 12 - the first day of filing for Certificate of Candidacy (COC) more than 22 Filipinos proclaimed their aspiration to be president as they filed their candidacy to the Commission on Elections (COMELEC).

Netizens reacted negatively to the number of candidacies from inexperienced candidates who became sources of annoyance, frustration and even entertainment. This reflected irreverence to the presidency which upset and even infuriated some netizens. This led them to call some of the candidates, "nuisance candidates."  The following are your top 2 favorite candidates:

Allan Carreon known as, "Intergalactic Earth Ambassador" who claims to have communicated with intergalactic aliens through the internet.  Whose platform includes Wi-Fi for the entire Philippines which according to him should allow him to continue communicating to the intergalactic beings.

Romeo John Ygonia of Benguet, a 51-year-old volunteer missionary also known as, “Archangel Lucifer." Who with conviction claims to be "sent and chosen by God" for this endeavor.

This has evoked a raucous of emotions from the Filipino people. The filing of COCs which used to be a very essential matter has somehow turned into a freak show. And this is just the kind of happening that begs us to question,
just how long are we going to keep this political comedy running?

Our proud professors, mentors and dear faculty also took the show on their academic regalia. Though of course, the spotlight belonged to none other than our dear Alma mater.

Dr. Miriam Narbarte, VP for Academic Affairs, once again took hold of the stage with AUP's accomplishments and achievements from the previous school year. All 9 colleges (CAH, COB, COD, COH, COE, COM, CON, CST and COT) were proud to begin the semester with its total freshmen population of more or less 1,100 students. The university proudly paraded its academic prowess.

Dr. Francisco Gayoba as he ends this school years' Acadamic Emphasis day.
The program was brought to an end by Dr. Francisco Gayoba, University President, with another of his inspiring messages and thus, officially launched the university to another great school year, filled of dreams and wishes and hopefully, of even more accomplishments. AUP again attested to giving its students the highest quality of Adventist education it can possibly give.
